Don’t judge a book …. And all that

I love meeting new people and yesterday was no exception. I went to a networking meeting with the aim of gaining some new contacts for The Training Tree and met some wonderful people and organisations.
I absolutely love listening to the success stories of people and their mental health journey. Among the business stalls were people who had really struggled with the lack of social opportunities during the pandemic. I met people with PTSD, Anxiety, work related stress and much more. One guy in particular came across as a very “Happy Go Lucky” kind of guy. When I got talking to him (he was trying to sell me his services at first) he started to tell me how he suffers with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). He went into how he has flashbacks and nightmares and how this often affects the ways he functions his working day. Yet this guy came across as one on the happiest that I came across at the networking event.
It goes to show that you really can’t tell what journey people are on abs that you can’t “judge a book by it’s cover”!
