Anxiety ..... it's a real shit, isn't it?? #anxietyboom

One minute you're going about your day, out with friends, having a chat, watching TV or out shopping, then ... BOOM ... Anxiety pops out and says "Here I am to ruin your day"!!!! And that's exactly what it's like for some of people! That intense feeling of nervousness when you're unable to relax and start to fear the worst.

We all have a lot going on in our likes and stress is a common condition - work, school, finances, relationships, health etc. Priorities may differ from one person to another, but the bottom line is at some point in our lives, anxiety will probably pay a visit. It's just that some people are more prone to it than others. Anxiety is actually a lot more common than you think. The symptoms of anxiety vary from person to person and can take the form of that "butterflies in your stomach" feeling to a racing heart and chest pains. #feelingsofanxiety

Stress and anxiety are closely linked, but they are not the same.

Stress is what we feel when a deadline for something is around the corner and we start to feel the pressure, anxiety is when the feelings of stress are so intense that it negatively impacts your daily life and can result in a panic attack if not managed.

Anxiety is a feeling of fear or apprehension about what may or may not happen, such as sitting and exam, going for a job interview, having to do something etc.

Anxiety can be managed when the cause is addressed, therefore, you need to understand your triggers.

When anxiety pays a visit, try to establish the cause by asking yourself these questions ..

- Where were you?

- Who were you with?

- What were you doing?

- What have you had to eat or drink?

- What were you thinking about?

Keeping a diary of your thoughts and feelings may help to establish the causes. #anxietydiary
